This project expands an earlier oral-history initiative on postwar Taiwanese ink painters into a broader investigation of postwar Taiwanese art. Through interviews with artists, curators, critics, gallery figures, sponsors, artists’ families, and friends, it documents first-hand memories of artistic production, institutional change, migration, and transnational networks. Framed by Cold War cultural politics and global art history, the project preserves urgent historical materials while rethinking Taiwanese contemporary art beyond medium-based, institution-centered, or purely domestic narratives.
