This catalogue accompanies one of the largest Chinese art exhibitions at the Louvre in recent years. It explores Thiers’s collection and 19th-century European sinophilia. My contribution examines the newly discovered Qingming shanghe tuscroll, produced in the Qing court, preserved within the Thiers collection.
